The Belém and Campo de Ourique Marches are returning to the Lisbon Popular Marches Competition in 2027, and the Castelo March remains in the competition, following a draw held on October 22.

The draw, which took place at the Fado Museum, confirmed the participation of these three collectives in the next edition of the competition. For the 2027 competition, 25 applications were submitted, with 20 submitted by collectives that participated in the 2026 edition and five by organizing entities of the Baixa, Belém, Campo de Ourique, Lumiar, and Santa Engrácia Marches.
Of the 25 candidate marches, the 17 that achieved the top places in the last edition secured automatic qualification, according to the Conditions of the Lisbon Popular Marches Competition. The remaining eight marches were subject to a draw to complete the group of 20 participants in the competition.
The Belém March returns after its last participation in 2024, while the Campo de Ourique March parades again after participating in 2022. The Castelo March, for its part, repeats its participation from the last edition.
As usual, the marches in competition are joined by the extra-competition marches: the Children's March «A Voz do Operário», the Santa Casa March, and the Mercados March.
The draw also defined the lineup for the 2027 Popular Marches performances, which will take place on June 4, 5, and 6 at the MEO Arena and on June 12 on Avenida da Liberdade.
