A delegation from the B team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica visited, this Thursday, patients at the Autonomous Functional Senology Unit (UFAS) of ULS Almada-Seixal, delivering kits with gifts to alleviate pre-surgical anxiety.

Patients at the Autonomous Functional Senology Unit (UFAS) of ULS Almada-Seixal (ULSAS), with surgery scheduled for October, received a pleasant surprise with a visit from players of the B team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica (SLB). Representing the club's youth football, players João Fonseca, Martim Ferreira, Duarte Soares, and Nuno Felix, accompanied by coach Nelson Veríssimo, distributed 26 individual kits with souvenirs.
The Board of Directors (CA) of ULSAS welcomed the Benfica delegation. The CA President, Pedro Correia Azevedo, praised the gesture and thanked the athletes and coach for their visit, inviting them to see the exhibition dedicated to the “pink October” initiative, displayed in the lobby of Hospital Garcia de Orta.
Silvia Pinto, a specialist nurse in rehabilitation at UFAS, expressed her “gratitude” for a gesture that “means a lot to these people, at a fragile moment.” One of the visited patients described the kit as “a kit of hope that comforts any heart at these times”.
This moment of solidarity also served to raise awareness among the club's athletes about the prevention and early screening of breast cancer, noting that this disease also affects men.
ULSAS thanks the gesture of SLB's youth football and the ULSAS Health Reception and Humanization Service, which, in partnership with the Benfica Foundation, provided moments of joy and good spirits to those going through a more vulnerable time.
