The Municipality of Azambuja has opened the application period for Study and Merit Scholarships for higher education students, running until November 30, 2026.

This initiative aims to support 45 students who have been residents in the municipality for at least two years and achieved academic success in the previous academic year. The measure represents an investment of €45,000, with each scholarship valued at €1,000.00.
Thirty-five Study Scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled or newly admitted to higher education, whose family's per capita income does not exceed €650.00 per month. Notably, 3 Study Scholarships are reserved for Volunteer Firefighters and members of the Portuguese Red Cross from local corporations, and their first-degree descendants.
In terms of Merit, 10 scholarships will be granted to recognize students who achieved an average annual grade of 15.00 or higher in the last academic year. The municipality seeks to value and reward higher education students who, through their personal investment, contribute directly or indirectly to the promotion and development of the county.
Interested candidates must submit the specific application form for the scholarship they are applying for, along with all documentation indicated in the regulations. A Candidate Application Guide and a single Application Form have been created to support the process.
Applications can be submitted at the Public Service Units (UAP) of the Municipality of Azambuja, Monday to Friday, during the following hours and locations: UAP Azambuja (Travessa da Rainha) from 09:00 to 16:30; UAP Aveiras de Cima (Largo da República) from 09:30 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 16:30; UAP Manique do Intendente (Junta de Freguesia) from 09:00 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 16:30.
