The Municipality of Azambuja has strengthened psychosocial support for children, youth, and families through the Azambuja Integra project, which ran throughout the 2025/2026 academic year.

The project, promoted by the Azambuja Municipal Council, covered areas such as mental health, social support, and the development of socio-emotional skills, with interventions targeting children, youth, adults, and their families.
Key actions included individual psychological counseling and socio-family support, with 448 psychological support sessions and 42 home visits. These interventions addressed learning difficulties, family conflicts, anxiety, low self-esteem, and economic vulnerability.
In the municipality's schools, the “Emotional Intelligence Workshops” reached 294 students, focusing on promoting empathy, communication, emotion management, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
The community also participated in awareness initiatives, such as the seminar “Growing Inside or Outside the Box”, which gathered around 95 participants to discuss positive parenting and child development.
The “Playing Outdoors” project encouraged healthy lifestyles and the use of public spaces as meeting points, strengthening family and community ties.
Adult residents benefited from the psychosocial support of the Azambuja Integra +21 program, aimed at vulnerable citizens, crisis support, and referral to specialized services.
These initiatives aim to enhance local responses in mental health, social inclusion, and community empowerment, promoting the well-being and quality of life for the municipality's population.
