The participation of the Municipality of Azambuja in the Santarém National Gastronomy Festival, scheduled for October 25th, aims to boost the municipality's tourism appeal, introduce its local products, and strengthen the recognition of the brand “Azambuja Terras do Torricado”.
The program prepared for the event includes the tasting of the traditional torricado, accompanied by wines awarded in the 43rd Azambuja Municipality Wine Competition. Additionally, gastronomic tastings will be offered by Emília Restaurante, located in Vila Nova da Rainha.
The diversity and excellence of Azambuja's local production will be highlighted through a selection of representative products. Among the offerings are honey and olive oil from Casal da Fonte (Vale do Paraíso), chèvre cheese from Granja dos Moinhos (Maçussa), gourmet biscuits and cookies from Guezzo (Tagarro), wedding cakes and traditional sweets by Lúcia Soares (Vale do Paraíso), Azambuja queijadinhas from Pastelaria Favorita (Azambuja), and dry cakes from Tradifana (Aveiras de Cima).
The National Gastronomy Festival runs from October 22nd to November 1st, at the Casa do Campino in Santarém. The Municipality of Azambuja will be represented at the inter-municipal stand of the Lezíria do Tejo Intermunicipal Community (CIMLT), an initiative that values the gastronomic identity and excellent products of the territory.
