Cercipeniche marked its 49th anniversary with a walk organized by Peniche a Correr, bringing the community together around the institution. On this special day, a lease agreement was signed, granting Cercipeniche the use of the Moinho de Vento da Fialha and its surrounding area for 50 years.
The Mayor of Peniche, Filipe Sales, highlighted the symbolism of the gesture, stating: “On the day Cercipeniche celebrates 49 years, we sign a 50-year lease. There is a beautiful symbolism in this act: we want you to continue here, by our side, accompanying generations, supporting families, and paving the way. Our community has immense admiration for this great institution, which makes us more just, more fraternal, and more solidary”.
Filipe Sales also announced that the Municipality is preparing a process to cede a plot of land for the expansion of the social response of the Center for Activities and Training for Inclusion (CACI), enabling Cercipeniche to continue meeting the needs of individuals and families.
The Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Andreia Capataz, emphasized the importance of people in the cooperative's history: “These 49 years are made of people, dedication, and many hands that never stopped helping. It is a time to thank everyone who is part of this story and to remember, with special care and gratitude, Rogério Cação. His contribution remains alive in the institution and in the path we continue to tread.”
Between memory and hope, Cercipeniche celebrated its journey with the community it has helped to care for, renewing its commitment to future generations.
