The D. João V Institute inaugurated a new Specialized Technology Center (CTE) for IT in Louriçal, an investment of approximately one million euros supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

The inauguration ceremony, held on Monday, November 2nd, was attended by figures such as the Mayor of Pombal Municipality, Pedro Pimpão, the Rector of the University of Leiria and Oeste, and the Vice-president of CCDR-C for Education.
The CTE, resulting from an application by IDJV to the PRR and a cooperation protocol with the Municipality of Pombal signed in January 2025, equips the school with specialized digital equipment, technologies, and resources. The aim is to meet current technological demands and labor market needs, qualifying young people and revitalizing the region.
The Mayor of Pombal Municipality, Pedro Pimpão, highlighted the role of the IDJV, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, stating that the institution has transformed the municipality. He emphasized that vocational training complements public education and that the beneficiaries of the investment are the students, promoting equal opportunities and social cohesion.
Pimpão also argued that Education should fulfill its mission as a "social elevator" and that vocational training has the dual purpose of qualifying individuals for a profession and enabling them to pursue higher education, advocating for all educational levels to be "aligned and in sync."
