The Leiria Region inaugurated its Contact Point with European Union Institutions this morning, a significant step to strengthen its standing in the European context and identify new opportunities.

The ceremony was attended by mayors from the Leiria Region, the Rector of the University of Leiria and Oeste (ULO), representatives from the Administration of the Local Health Unit of the Leiria Region, and the NERLEI – Business Association of the Leiria Region. Also present were the President of CCDR Centro, representatives from the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union, AICEP, and members of the Committee of the Regions.
More than just an inauguration, the event served as an opportunity for dialogue and reflection on the main challenges and priorities being discussed within European institutions. The goal is to identify new avenues for cooperation, investment, and funding for the territories of the Leiria Region.
This initiative aims to build a Leiria Region closer to Europe, with greater presence in decision-making and better prepared to seize emerging opportunities on the European stage.
