The Intermunicipal Community of the Leiria Region (CIMRL) has opened a public consultation period for the Sub-regional Action Program for Integrated Rural Fire Management of the Leiria Region (PSA), a fundamental instrument for planning and implementing rural fire management measures.

The PSA aims to articulate national and regional strategy with the specific characteristics of the Leiria Region's territory, involving municipalities and other entities of the Integrated Rural Fire Management System (SGIFR).
The public consultation will run for 30 working days, with a deadline of December 15, 2026, following the publication of Notice No. 27191/2026/2 in the Diário da República. The program has already received an opinion from the Regional Commission for Integrated Rural Fire Management of the Centre.
During this period, the Sub-regional Action Program, its annexes, graphic and cartographic documents related to the Secondary Network of Fuel Management Strips, Strategic Areas of Fuel Management Mosaics, Forest Road Network, Water Point Network, Fire Surveillance and Detection Network, Priority Prevention and Safety Areas (APPS), and the Matrix of Compatible Occupations in Defense Networks will be available for consultation.
The complete documentation can be consulted on the CIM Região de Leiria website dedicated to the Integrated System for Forest Fire Management.
The participation of citizens, entities, and associations is crucial for the Program to adequately address the needs of the Leiria Region. Observations can be submitted in writing by December 15, 2026, to the email address cimrl@cimregiaodeleiria.pt, with the subject line 'Public Consultation — PSA Região de Leiria'.
