The event, traditionally held in Coentral Grande, moves this year to the center of Castanheira de Pera, promising a weekend of tradition, mountain flavors, and musical entertainment.
On Saturday, October 24, the fair opens at 2:00 PM. The program includes a talk by Domingos Alves on the "Rural World" at 3:00 PM, followed by performances by the Grupo Fragas e Cavaquinhos do Coentral (4:30 PM), the Rancho Folclórico Os Neveiros do Coentral (5:30 PM), and musical entertainment by “Mini Banda Sinfonia” (6:30 PM). The day concludes with a performance by artist Ruizinho de Penacova at 10:00 PM.
On Sunday, October 25, the fair reopens at 11:00 AM with the Gaiteiros “Os Serralheiros”. At 1:30 PM, there will be a ShowCooking with Maria Alves. The afternoon will be dedicated to Folklore and Traditional Music, with performances by the Rancho Folclórico Cercicaper, Rancho Folclórico Fazendas de Almeirim, and Rancho Folclórico Cantarinhas de Buarcos. The day culminates with the traditional Magusto (roasting chestnuts) and entertainment by the group Michel Neves e Amigos at 6:30 PM.
The organization is by the Union of Freguesias of Castanheira de Pera and Coentral, with the support of the Municipality of Castanheira de Pera and Prazilândia, Turismo e Ambiente EM. The organization invites the public to "Value what we are, protect what we have."
