The day began with a lunch where traditional sardines were served, in an atmosphere of good spirits and conversation among the participants. The initiative aimed to combat social isolation and promote intergenerational coexistence.
In the afternoon, the gathering continued with music and dancing, recreating the atmosphere of a traditional Minho festival. The event highlighted the importance of valuing and respecting the senior population.
“"Mais do que festa, estes moments são uma forma de cuidar. Combater o isolamento social e promover a convivência entre gerações é também cuidar da saúde mental de quem mais fez pelo nosso concelho."
César Figueiredo, Mayor of Mêda, was present and emphasized the fundamental contribution of the senior population to the municipality's development, highlighting that these moments of gathering are essential for the mental health of the elderly.
