The Local Health Unit of Guarda (ULSG), through the Community Mental Health Team ENTRE.NÓS, met with representatives from the Employment and Professional Training Center of Seia to coordinate support for individuals with mental illness.

The meeting, held today, October 23, 2026, included the Subdirector of the Employment and Professional Training Center of Seia, Mário Cardoso, and the Coordinator of the Promotion and Support Unit, Cristina Figueiredo. The objective was to learn about available employment measures and training offers to promote a more concerted and articulated community intervention among entities involved in the social inclusion of people with mental illness.
The social and professional occupation of users is considered a determining factor for improving clinical symptomatology, reinforcing self-esteem, developing autonomy, and achieving greater financial and social stability.
Effective social integration also requires the preparation and sensitization of the contexts into which these individuals are placed, preventing relapses and symptom aggravation. Only through collaborative and integrated action can responses centered on mental health promotion, psychosocial recovery, and the construction of more autonomous and inclusive life projects be guaranteed.
