The President of the Municipal Chamber of Almeida, Eng. António José Monteiro Machado, attended on October 1st the ceremony for the delivery of equipment for fuel management, held in the city of Guarda. The municipality was one of the recipients of a new tractor, intended to bolster municipal resources for fuel management.
This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Sea and the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF), was attended by several dignitaries, including the Minister of Agriculture and Sea, José Manuel Fernandes, the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, the Secretary of State for Forests, Rui Ladeira, and the Chairman of the ICNF Board, Nuno Banza.
During the event, various municipalities signed protocols for the cession of machinery. The aim is to strengthen intervention capacity in fuel management and rural fire prevention, thereby contributing to greater territorial protection.
