The Portimão Museum inaugurates on November 15th the exhibition "Portimão Firefighters – 100 Years Serving the Population", celebrating a century of history and dedication of the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters.

The exhibition, which will be open until April 12, 2027, invites the community to explore the institution's evolution from its early days in 1903 to the founding of the Association in 1926 and its transformations over the decades. Through historical photographs, documents, equipment, vehicles, and decorations, the exhibition details the fundamental role of firefighters in protecting and assisting the Portimão community.
The initiative highlights significant moments, such as the integration of women into the operational structure in 1991, and pays tribute to the memory of firefighters who lost their lives in service. The exhibition is promoted by the Humanitarian Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Portimão, with the support of the Municipality of Portimão, through the Portimão Museum, and the Museum of Costume of São Brás de Alportel.
The exhibition celebrates one hundred years of an institution driven by the values of courage, competence, and selflessness, which continues to be essential to the community.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Tuesdays from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, and from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at the Portimão Museum.
