The Pedra Dura – Festival de Dança do Algarve returns to Lagos from November 4th to 14th for its 5th edition, presenting 11 days of contemporary dance, cinema, music, installations, and performance.

Over 11 days, the festival involves different spaces in the city, promoting contact between artists and audiences. Highlights of this edition include the works of Alessandro Sciarroni with “Save the Last Dance for Me”, Vera Mantero with “uma misteriosa Coisa, disse o e.e. Cummings”, and Clara Andermatt with “O Cansaço dos Santos”. The program also features artists such as Tales Frey, Sarah Baltzinger, Isaiah Wilson, and Bruno Senune, among other national and international names.
The festival also focuses on training with two free masterclasses. On November 7th, Tales Frey will lead “Indumentos Performativos: corpo, ação e relação”, focusing on the concept of performative attire. On November 14th, Chiara Corbetta, performer in the show “Megastructure”, will conduct a masterclass on notions of weight, resistance, release, and suspension.
Under the theme “Voltamos atrás sem repetir o momento” (We go back without repeating the moment), this edition revisits memories and explores permanence and reinvention, building the new festival edition from the space between memory and change.
