The municipality of Lagoa experienced an intense weekend dedicated to sports, with the staging of the III Lagoa a Rolar Tournament and the Regional Mixed Relay Cross-Country Championship, events that mobilized hundreds of athletes and reinforced the municipal commitment to training and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Speed skating and athletics were the featured sports in Lagoa over the weekend, with events that brought together athletes of various ages and promoted sports practice, team spirit, and social interaction. The municipality thus reinforces its commitment to sports participation and the enhancement of public spaces.
On October 17th, the III Lagoa a Rolar Tournament, organized by APVA – Algarve Speed Skating Academy, with the support of the Municipality of Lagoa, held its first round. The event gathered 57 athletes from APVA and Roller Lagos Clube de Patinagem, aged between 5 and 14, who participated in skill tests, rollercross races, and recreational activities. The second round is scheduled for December 12th.
Also on October 17th, the Parque Urbano do Parchal hosted the third edition of the Regional Mixed Relay Cross-Country Championship. The joint organization by the Municipality of Lagoa and the Algarve Athletics Association brought together over 200 athletes from different age groups, including recreational activities for the SUB10 and SUB12 categories as part of the regional KIDS ATHLETICS program.
The Associação Académica da Bela Vista emerged as the winner of the absolute cross-country race, reclaiming the title of Regional Mixed Relay Champion. In the SUB14 and SUB16 categories, the regional titles were won by the Clube Oriental de Pechão.
The return of athletics to the Parque Urbano do Parchal, which previously hosted the European Cross-Country Championship in December 2025, reaffirms the excellent conditions of this space for official competitions and its importance in the sports development of the municipality.
These initiatives reflect Lagoa's municipal sports policy, focused on promoting access to sports, encouraging the training of young athletes, supporting sports associations, and valuing public spaces for the well-being of the population.
