The village of Azinhal marked the Pink October movement with a solidarity Zumba class, held on Sunday, October 25th, in the Monthly Market square.

The Monthly Market square gained new dynamism and animation with the Zumba class, taught by instructor Helena Conceição. Participants made a donation to the Algarve Oncology Association in exchange for a small gift.
Concurrently, the usual Monthly Market took place, held on the last Sunday of each month, featuring local and regional products, as well as activities for children.
The movement known as “Pink October” originated in the United States in the 1990s, aiming to inspire change and mobilize society in the fight against breast cancer. Since then, the color pink has been used to honor women with breast cancer, raise awareness for prevention and early diagnosis, and support research in this field.
