The Municipality of São Brás de Alportel has initiated the 2027 Participatory Budgeting process, inviting citizens to submit ideas for the municipality by November 8th, with a budget of 70 thousand euros for the winning project.

The process begins with a series of public participation meetings, aimed at involving the community in decisions on municipal investment and improving local quality of life. This edition maintains the 70 thousand euro budget for the implementation of the winning proposal.
Proposal submissions are open until November 8th, via email orcamento.participativo@cm-sbras.pt or through forms available at the Municipal Chamber and at www.cm-sbras.pt. This will be followed by technical evaluation (November 9th-15th) and community voting (November 16th-30th). The winning proposal will be announced in the first half of December.
To encourage involvement, public meetings were held on October 19th, 20th, and 21st, with another scheduled for Escola EB1 de Vilarinhos on October 26th, all at 7:00 PM.
Launched in 2006, the Participatory Budgeting has been an instrument of participatory public management, strengthening the connection between the Municipality and citizens. Over 15 editions, it has contributed to projects such as Parque Roberto Nobre, the Espaço Desportivo do Jardim Carrera Viegas, and Praça da República, among others.
