The award and honorable mention ceremony for the 5th edition of the Accessible Sport Award will take place on November 5th, at 2:30 PM, in the conference room of the Hotel Alísios, in Albufeira. This national event is annually promoted by the Institute for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, I.P. (IDiPD), and the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, I.P. (IPDJ).
The award's objective is to distinguish and promote projects that foster the development of sport and physical activity for people with disabilities, contributing to their social inclusion and the creation of a more inclusive society. In observance of the International Year of Volunteers, the program also includes a segment dedicated to reflecting on the importance of volunteering in promoting inclusive sport.
Through a panel sharing experiences and best practices, various perspectives from entities and individuals involved in adapted sports projects will be gathered, highlighting the fundamental role of volunteers in the creation, development, and sustainability of these initiatives.
