The equipment will be placed at the Town Hall, the Vítor Martelo Municipal Pools, the parish councils of Corval, Monsaraz, and the Union of Parishes of Campo and Campinho, at the Conde de Monsaraz Secondary School, the António Gião Basic School, the Manuel Augusto Papança Basic School, the Gymnasium Hall (which will function as a cardioprotected space between September and June), and at the Monsaraz River Beach, during the bathing season.
The initiative includes training individuals for each location, enabling them to provide assistance in cardiac emergency situations. The implementation of cardioprotection programs will be carried out in partnership with Desfibrilhador DAE, with licensing and authorization from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).
Through this measure, the municipality aims to enhance its response capacity to cardiac emergencies by providing equipment in public access areas and preparing staff to act while awaiting emergency services. Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, and it is scientifically proven that the use of portable defibrillators in an out-of-hospital setting significantly increases the probability of survival.
