The municipality of Mora was represented by 14 teams at the 32nd Festa da Malha, which took place on Sunday, September 27th, in Viana do Alentejo. The event brought together over 450 participants from the municipalities of Central Alentejo.
Among the teams representing the municipality, the duo Luís Lopes and José Casanova achieved 3rd place in the Senior Men's Absolute category, securing a spot on the podium of this regional competition.
The Festa da Malha, organized by CIMAC – Comunidade Intermunicipal do Alentejo Central, in collaboration with the Municipality of Viana do Alentejo, aimed at competition, conviviality, and the valorization of wool spinning as an Alentejo tradition.
The Mora Municipal Council congratulated the winning duo and acknowledged the efforts of the other participants, highlighting their contribution to the preservation and valorization of this tradition, which is part of the recreational and cultural heritage of Central Alentejo.
