“"Mental health care is not just provided within institutions. It is provided alongside people, families, and the community. These protocols represent another step in building proximity-based responses capable of promoting inclusion, autonomy, and quality of life."

The Local Health Unit of Alentejo Central (ULSAC) and the Municipality of Évora formalized today two collaboration protocols to enhance the coordination between institutions in promoting mental health, social inclusion, and the proximity of healthcare services.
The agreements, signed at the Ludoteca de Évora, aim to create more accessible and integrated responses to the needs of individuals and families. The Ludoteca de Évora will play an active role in developing some of the initiatives.
The first protocol establishes a community psychosocial rehabilitation response for individuals supported by the ULSAC Community Mental Health Team. Through regular group occupational therapy, this intervention aims to promote autonomy, functionality, and active community participation.
The second protocol will enable the development of interventions by the ULSAC Perinatal Mental Health Team at the Ludoteca de Évora, strengthening parental skills, mother-baby bonding, and support for families.
These initiatives highlight the importance of institutional cooperation in creating proximity-based responses and valuing existing community resources, allowing for more integrated interventions.
The protocols demonstrate that mental health promotion benefits from the coordination between different entities, leveraging resources and knowledge. These initiatives create opportunities for inclusion, prevention, empowerment, and the promotion of psychological well-being within the community.
The ULS Alentejo Central thanks the Municipality of Évora for their cooperation, confident that this partnership will enhance the quality of services provided to citizens and promote a healthier, more inclusive community.
