The Évora Hikers Group celebrated its 14th Anniversary on October 18th with a hike of approximately 11 kilometers and a celebratory lunch, which brought together around 200 participants.

The event, which covered the city's three urban parishes, was attended by several official entities, including the Vice-President of the Évora Municipal Council, Jerónimo José, Councillor Carmen Carvalheira, and the Presidents of the Parish Unions of Bacelo e Sra. da Saúde (Luís Pardal), Malagueira e Horta das Figueiras (Joaquim Godinho), as well as representatives from the Union of Parishes of the Historic Center.
The event also featured participation from the Hiking Group “Caminheiros de Grândola” and the hiking section of the Cultural and Sports Group of the Parish of Monsaraz, titled “Monsaraz a Caminhar”.
The Évora Hikers Group, formally established as a Club for Hiking Practitioners, promotes sport combined with social gathering as a way to encourage physical health and mental well-being, as well as to showcase the region's natural, historical, and gastronomic heritage.
The hike started at the Arena D´Évora, covering a distance of about 11 kilometers that included the Mata e Jardim Público (Forest and Public Garden), the area surrounding the Muralhas (Walls), Av. S. João de Deus, Av. da Universidade, Alto de S. Bento, and Ribeira da Torregela. Following the sporting activity, participants gathered for lunch at a local restaurant.
