Following its implementation in the Torregela neighborhood, Gesamb's household selective collection initiative now reaches the residential areas of Casinha and Moinho. This expansion, taking place throughout October and November, covers the Union of Freguesias of Malagueira and Horta das Figueiras, continuing the service model developed by the company.
Residents in these areas will receive three 40-liter bins for separating paper/cardboard, plastic/metal packaging, and glass packaging. These containers will allow households to sort their recyclable waste at home and place it at their doorstep on designated collection days, encouraging active family participation.
The initiative will be supported by informational and awareness-raising activities aimed at clarifying operational doubts and promoting correct material separation. With this expansion, Gesamb reinforces its commitment to community proximity and the continuous improvement of waste management services.
This project extension marks a significant step towards a more efficient and sustainable waste management system, where the contribution of each household is vital for achieving positive environmental outcomes. The investment is co-financed by the ALT2030 program – Alentejo Regional Program 2021-2027, through the EcoAcess26 application.
