The Alentejo 2030 program has launched a call for projects with a budget of 1 million euros to support investment projects that promote the circular economy in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region.

The initiative, part of the Incentives System for Climate and Energy Transition, aims to foster regenerative production processes and increase productivity through the reintroduction of recovered materials. It also seeks to promote water circularity and enhance compliance with European Union environmental legislation and policies.
Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the call offers a maximum co-financing rate of 60%. Projects contributing to more efficient resource use and the adoption of innovative circular economy solutions are supported, including the development of new products from by-products, reconversion of production processes, reduction of raw material consumption, eco-design practices, new business models based on material reuse and sharing economy, as well as resource recycling and reuse.
SMEs with investments located in the NUTS II Alentejo region can apply. Applications are open until January 29, 2027, at 18:00.
Through this call, Alentejo 2030 aims to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the regional business fabric, modernize production processes, and accelerate the transition to a more efficient and circular economy, aligning with Portugal's Action Plan for the Circular Economy.
