The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Oliveira do Hospital, José Francisco Rolo, the Councilor for Education, Luísa Correia, and the Director of the Agrupamento de Escolas de Oliveira do Hospital (AEOH), Carlos Carvalheira. The investment of approximately 83 thousand euros has equipped the facility with better conditions for teaching and greater comfort for users.
The choice of this venue to mark the start of classes reflects the desire to value educational establishments outside the municipal seat. Renovation projects at the Basic Schools of Lagares da Beira and Cordinha are also underway, with investments in the region of 3.2 million euros.
José Francisco Rolo emphasized that Education remains a priority for the executive, with a municipal budget in this area exceeding 5.5 million euros, an increase of about 16% in the last four years. The mayor highlighted the importance of investing in education as a transformative tool for societies.
Oliveira do Hospital hosts over 3,100 students, more than 2,200 of whom attend the School Grouping, which offers education from preschool to master's degree. The Councilor for Education also mentioned improvements in several other educational establishments in the municipality, such as Penalva de Alva, Bobadela, and Seixo da Beira.
The municipality's educational policy focuses not only on physical renovations but also on developing educational projects in collaboration with the school group, aiming to foster more participative individuals.
Carlos Carvalheira thanked the Municipal Chamber for the investment in the Escola da Ponte das Três Entradas, stressing that "all students deserve the same conditions" and praising the renovation carried out.
Previously, José Francisco Rolo and Luísa Correia attended the opening of the school year at the Eptoliva headquarters school, where they highlighted the institution's growth and the educational community's involvement.
