The Municipality approved the opening of the Public Interest Notice on September 21, setting a deadline of 30 working days for legally qualified operators to submit their expressions of interest for the installation of electric vehicle charging points. This process aims to assess existing interest in the locations identified by the Municipality and gather technical proposals.
The locations were determined based on a prior survey by municipal services and may be adjusted according to the conditions of each site, such as available power, grid connection, parking, and accessibility. Each operator can express interest in one or more locations, providing details such as the type and power of chargers, installation timeline, and public space integration solution.
The installation and operation of the equipment will depend on a license for the private use of the municipal public domain. Operators will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and conservation of the equipment, as well as for restoring the public space. The Municipality clarifies that this phase does not constitute a public tender or grant occupation rights.
Should incompatible expressions of interest arise for the same location, the Municipality will attempt to reconcile the proposals. If this is not possible, a simplified selection procedure will be initiated based on criteria such as technical suitability, charging capacity, and public interest.
Following the analysis of the submissions, the Municipality will identify locations with and without interested parties and proceed with the applicable licensing procedures. Notice No. 226/2026 is available on the Municipality's notices page. Clarification requests should be sent to dag@cm-coimbra.pt.
