The Auditório Madalena Biscaia de Azeredo Peredigão, in Figueira da Foz, hosted last Friday the II Congress of the Portuguese Association of Business Parks (APPE). The event focused on the theme “Territorial Capacity and Resilience for Economic Development”.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida, and the Mayor of Figueira da Foz, Pedro Santana Lopes, along with other municipal officials and representatives from regional, national, and international entities.
In his speech, Minister Manuel Castro Almeida highlighted the Government's intention to create six or seven new industrial parks in Portugal. He stressed the importance of preparing these infrastructures in advance to meet investor needs, stating: “Investors should not have to wait.”
Isabel Caldeira Cardoso, president of APPE, also advocated for a joint strategy that places business parks at the center of the national agenda, strengthening Portugal's capacity to attract investment and respond to economic challenges.
The congress served as a forum for reflection and sharing, reinforcing the importance of cooperation between the Government, municipalities, and regional entities in building more competitive, resilient, and future-ready territories.
