The Polytechnic University of Coimbra, through INOPOL Academia de Empreendedorismo, has launched the first edition of the “@GIR pelo Território” Ideas Competition, aimed at technological and innovative projects. Five projects will be awarded 750 euros each, with applications open until November 2, 2026.

This initiative is part of the “EMPower – Empowering Young People to Entrepreneur” project, funded by COMPETE2030 – Thematic Program Innovation and Digital Transition (FSE+). The goal is to encourage self-employment and support the transformation of creative ideas into viable business ventures. The competition is developed in partnership with the Municipalities of CIM Região de Coimbra.
The competition focuses on projects of a technological and innovative nature that demonstrate potential for economic valorization. This can be achieved through the application of new technologies, process digitalization, or the creation of high-value-added products and services. Projects, still in the idea phase, find a platform here to be identified and promoted.
Individuals over 18 years of age who, at the time of application, reside in or demonstrate a territorial and geographical link to CIM Região de Coimbra are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted as a team, consisting of at least two participants, with at least one being 29 years old or younger.
The five projects with the highest evaluation, according to the criteria defined in the regulations, will be awarded. Each winning project will receive a monetary prize of 750 euros.
Applications are open until November 2, 2026, and must be submitted through a specific online form. Each project may submit only one application, in Portuguese or English, within the stipulated deadline. Results will be communicated via email and published on the INOPOL page within a maximum of 15 business days after the application period closes.
