The distinction recognizes the quality of water supplied to the population and results from compliance with rigorous criteria, including the timely submission of the Water Quality Control Program, the completion of all planned analyses, and the conformity of over 99% of results with established parametric values.
In 2026, only 56 out of 278 managing entities in mainland Portugal were awarded this seal. The ceremony for the Water and Waste Services Quality Seals took place on October 14, in Guimarães.
The Municipality of Penamacor was represented at the ceremony by its Vice-President, Pedro Silveiro.
