The Penamacor Municipal Council approved, in its meeting on October 16th, a financial support of 8 thousand euros to the Association Amigos de Salvador for the realization of the 1st Goat Gastronomic Festival and Hunting Conferences of Salvador.

This decision follows the creation of other gastronomic festivals in the municipality, such as the Festival das Varas in Aranhas, the Festival das Sopas in Benquerença, and the Festival da Chanfana in Meimão. The support aims to enable the event and its specific activities.
In the same meeting, a financial support of 20 thousand euros was unanimously approved for the Parish Council of Meimoa to complete the rehabilitation works of the former school building and acquire equipment, with the aim of transforming it into a Cultural Center. This future multifaceted facility intends to promote local development, social inclusion, education, tourism and cultural dynamism, and combat depopulation, allowing for exhibitions, conferences, training sessions, workshops, and artistic presentations.
Additionally, financial supports of 92,500 euros each were allocated to the Associação Desportiva e Cultural de Pedrógão de São Pedro and the Associação Desportiva Penamacorense for the 2026/2027 sports season. A further support of 18 thousand euros was also approved for the Associação Desportiva e Cultural de Pedrógão de São Pedro for the acquisition of a vehicle.
