A preparatory visit marked the beginning of preparations for the renovation of the outdoor spaces at the Escola Básica do Fomento in Mirandela. The initiative was attended by various entities, including the vice-president of the Municipal Chamber, Orlando Pires, the councilor for Education, Vera Preto, representatives from the Mirandela School Group, the Parents' Association, municipal technicians, the company responsible for the project, and the Association of Municipalities of Terra Quente Transmontana (AMTQT).
The intervention, representing a total investment of approximately 188 thousand euros, primarily aims to improve safety and accessibility conditions. It also seeks to enhance recreational areas and sports zones, reorganize vehicular circulation, and strengthen the landscape quality of the surrounding space.
The project was developed by AMTQT. Preparations are currently underway for the commencement of on-site works, with completion anticipated in the first quarter of 2027.
Through this intervention, the Municipality of Mirandela reaffirms its commitment to improving school environments, aiming to provide a safer, more functional, and suitable setting for the educational community.
