The Local Health Unit (ULS) of Nordeste marks Palliative Care Month in October with a program of activities in Macedo de Cavaleiros and Mirandela.

The Integrated Palliative Care Service of ULS do Nordeste has organized a series of initiatives aimed at training, raising awareness, and reflection on crucial topics in palliative care. The program covers areas such as respiratory rehabilitation, therapeutic communication, palliative sedation, and burnout prevention.
October will also feature moments of commemoration and celebration. A vigil in memory of patients who passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of Macedo de Cavaleiros is particularly noteworthy. This tribute is promoted by the Psychosocial Support Team of ULS do Nordeste and will take place on October 9th, at 6:00 PM, at the Dra. Teresa Aroso Ramos Palliative Care Inpatient Unit.
