Póvoa de Lanhoso strengthens its tradition in the performing arts with the new edition of the Theatro Club's Theater Workshops for the 2026/2027 academic year. This benchmark training project, accompanying the consolidation of CONTE and the activity of local groups, presents reorganized schedules and an adjusted pedagogical offer.
Guided by young local talents, the workshops welcome participants of all ages and experience levels. The offer is divided into groups for Children (Tuesdays, 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM), focusing on dramatic play; Initiation A (Mondays) and Initiation B (Wednesdays), both from 6:30 PM to 7:45 PM, for developing stage presence and improvisation; and Exploration (Thursdays, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM), delving into interpretation and collective creation.
The academic year is structured into three progressive terms: the first dedicated to discovery through expression games; the second to creation, focusing on improvisation and rehearsals; and the third to the presentation of the final work on stage.
The +25 group, for adults, runs on Fridays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, offering artistic deepening and emotional work, with places still available. The training path aims to provide essential skills for the integral development of participants.
The municipality also celebrates the figure of local amateur theater with the Lino Gravia Comedy Encounter, organized by the Grupo Cénico Povoense. The closing of this year's edition, on October 31st at 9:30 PM at Theatro Club, will feature the premiere of “Aqui e Além,” a new production by TEM (Teatro Experimental Maria).
