The Municipality's continuous strategy to innovate and improve education, focused on equal opportunities and the support of children and young people, encompasses diverse programs promoting physical activity, well-being, food health, artistic expression, reading, and logical-mathematical reasoning, with an emphasis on combating inequalities and fostering social inclusion.
With the aim of enriching the educational ecosystem, the Municipality joined a delegation from CIM do Ave on a visit to Eindhoven, Netherlands. The delegation, which included Vice-President and Education Councilor Fátima Moreira, and Head of the Education Division, Maria José Lourenço, participated in a benchmarking project focused on inclusion and innovation.
The initiative allowed for direct contact with the Brainport ecosystem, recognized for its exemplary collaboration between municipalities, educational institutions, universities, and businesses. The observation of distinct teaching methodologies and training models aims to gather insights for potential replication in the local context.
Strategic cooperation with the other municipalities in the Ave region and the active pursuit of knowledge, both nationally and internationally, represent decisive steps towards improving municipal educational policies, envisioning future careers, and ensuring that the journey of each student in Póvoa continues to be transformed and valued.
