The parish of São Vicente hosted this Wednesday the sixth visit of the bi-weekly 'Freguesia a Freguesia' tour, led by the municipal executive of Braga, headed by João Rodrigues. The meeting began with a working session at the Parish Council headquarters, where short, medium, and long-term development prospects for the parish were discussed.
João Rodrigues highlighted the expansion potential of São Vicente, stating that "with the new construction possibilities of the new PDM, it gains enormous growth capacity in Braga", citing the Confeiteira area as an example.
The tour included visits to streets undergoing repaving, such as Rua Conselheiro Bento Miguel and Rua General Norton de Matos, and monitoring of works at the Infias Interchange, as well as the refurbishment and expansion of the Quinta da Veiga Basic School.
The total municipal investment in ongoing and upcoming works in the parish amounts to 4.1 million euros. "We are applying over 4.1 million euros in works in São Vicente, decisive interventions, in addition to the much-talked-about Infias Interchange, now finally underway, reinforcing Braga's centrality and mobility," the president noted.
Regarding social cohesion and urban planning, the President of the Parish Council, Artur Monteiro, proposed to the municipality the study of the continuity of the Road Safety School at its current location, with the possibility of building a day center and a nursery in the same space. João Rodrigues showed receptiveness to the proposal.
The visit concluded with a clear note of political commitment and continuity, with Rodrigues stating: "We are transforming our city and we will not stop. It is this work of proximity, active listening, and direct contact with the realities of each parish that allows us to turn ideas into concrete responses for our community."
