Approximately 200 parents from Barcelos and Esposende participated in Pediatric Basic Life Support sessions, promoted by ULSBE this month, learning how to react in emergencies.

The initiative, aimed at preparing guardians for emergency situations with children, took place at the Barcelinhos Volunteer Firefighters and the Esposende Volunteer Firefighters. Throughout the various sessions, participants learned and practiced response maneuvers for cardiorespiratory arrest and other procedures to adopt in the event of a pediatric emergency.
The training allows participants to gain familiarity with these techniques and understand how to act while awaiting the arrival of emergency services. The training involved the nursing teams from UCC Barcelinhos, UCC Barcelos Norte, and UCC Convida Saúde, who were responsible for preparing and running the sessions. Conducting the training in both municipalities required the coordination of professionals, in a joint effort to bring practical knowledge to families.
Under the motto “Train to be a hero,” ULSBE brought Pediatric Basic Life Support training to families, reinforcing the importance of knowing how to recognize signs, call 112, and initiate appropriate maneuvers in critical moments.
