The aim of this award is to stimulate research into the identity of the Fafe municipality, covering its past and various perspectives. The regulations were approved in a meeting of the Municipal Executive.
All interested individuals, whether residents or not, can apply with original and unpublished works addressing administrative, political, economic, social, cultural, artistic, or religious aspects of Fafe's history. Employees of the Municipality of Fafe are not eligible to compete.
The evaluation of works will consider the use of primary sources, the originality and timeliness of themes, clarity of language, overall coherence, and formal presentation. Submissions must be written in Portuguese and be at least 30 pages long.
The monetary prize is €1,000, awarded to the best work, with the possibility of honorable mentions. The Municipal Chamber will ensure the publication of the winning work in the cultural magazine Dom Fafes.
Applicants must send four copies of their work to the Councillor for Culture, Local History Award, Municipality of Fafe, Avenida 5 de Outubro, 4824-501 Fafe. Each competitor may only submit one work.
