The event marked the start of the new academic year for students of CTeSP, bachelor's, and master's degrees, promoting integration into UPCA life. The institutional session featured a presentation by Rafael Vieira and participation from Humanoide.
The President of the Barcelos Municipal Chamber, Mário Constantino Lopes, highlighted the connection between the University, the city, and the region, encouraging students to seize the opportunities offered. He emphasized the institution's role in the council's development and the high demand for its programs, with 91% of places filled.
The President of the UPCA Academic Association, Beatriz Medela, urged students to actively participate in academic life, going "beyond the classroom." UPCA Rector, Alexandra Malheiro, underscored the significance of the moment for students, marking a new stage of autonomy.
Following the institutional session, the stage hosted singer Toy, who entertained the campus with music. The UPCA Academic Tunas presented academic traditions, fostering a convivial atmosphere.
Welcome UPCA also welcomed part-time students in a special session, which included the talk "From Knowledge to Impact: The UPCA Ecosystem of Opportunities," led by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation.
The evening continued with music and academic tradition, featuring UPCA Tunas and a fado group entertaining the campus, bringing together different generations and academic experiences.
