The Municipality of Barcelos is marking the end of Equality Month this week with a series of initiatives focused on promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.

The program includes the CLDS 5G District Conferences, focusing on the role of art in social intervention, the second edition of the Municipal Seal for Diversity, Equality, and Conciliation, and the photographic exhibition «Identidades Romani», dedicated to Roma communities. These events continue the celebrations of the Municipal Day of Equality, previously marked by the discussion «Who defines who you are?».
On October 28th, at 2:00 PM, the award ceremony for the second edition of the Municipal Seal for Diversity, Equality, and Conciliation will take place in Braga, at the facilities of the Intermunicipal Community of Cávado (CIM Cávado). This seal recognizes the commitment of entities to promoting equality and work-life balance. The ceremony will be attended by representatives from the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) and CIM Cávado.
From October 29th to 30th, the Barcelos Municipal Auditorium will host the CLDS 5G District Conferences for the Braga district, themed «Art and Intervention: Gazes and Expressions». The conferences, running from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, will feature panels with guests from various fields, cultural moments, and workshops to reflect on the role of art and culture in social intervention. Participation is free upon prior registration.
On October 30th, the Café-Concerto of Theatro Gil Vicente will host the photographic exhibition «Identidades Romani», by photographers Osvaldo Grilo and Natália Serrana, as part of the European ROMED program. The initiative is funded by the Agency for Integration, Migrations, and Asylum (AIMA).
Promoting equality, respecting diversity, and fostering social inclusion are fundamental pillars for building a fairer and more participatory community, objectives that Barcelos has been pursuing through its Equality Month initiatives.
