The Municipality of Serpa received, on October 20th, a new tractor aimed at strengthening operational resources for fuel management and vegetation clearing, essential for rural fire prevention.

The equipment handover took place in Santiago do Cacém, following the signing of machinery transfer protocols between the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) and twelve municipalities in the Alentejo region. The event was attended by the Mayor of Serpa, Francisco Picareta.
This initiative, part of the Mechanization Program for Fuel Management and funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), aims to equip local authorities with crucial resources for rural fire prevention by optimizing fuel management operations.
