The Moura Municipal Chamber signed a protocol to establish the Local Guarantee Hub for Children (NLGIM), a new structure focused on supporting children and youth at social risk and their families.

The Noble Hall of the Moura Municipal Chamber hosted, on September 30th, the signing of the Partnership Protocol for the Implementation and Monitoring of the Local Guarantee Hub for Children of Moura (NLGIM). This initiative aims to strengthen local action targeting children and youth in situations of social vulnerability and their family units.
The ceremony was attended by Álvaro Azedo, President of the Moura Municipal Chamber and of the Local Council for Social Action (CLAS) of Moura, and Sónia Almeida, National Coordinator for the Guarantee for Children. The establishment of the NLGIM aligns with Recommendation (EU) 2021/1004 and the Action Plan for the Guarantee for Children 2022-2030, seeking a cohesive and close social intervention.
The Hub integrates various entities from the municipality, including the Moura Municipal Chamber, Comoiprel (CLDS), the Centro Infantil Nossa Senhora do Carmo, Moura Salúquia – Associação de Mulheres do Concelho de Moura, the Centro de Saúde de Moura, ADC Moura, Moura Atlético Clube, the Agrupamento Escolar de Moura, the Instituto da Segurança Social – Núcleo de Moura, the CPCJ de Moura, and the União de Freguesias de Moura e Santo Amador.
Key objectives of the NLGIM include updating the diagnosis of child poverty and social exclusion in the municipality, identifying necessary resources, and formulating participatory intervention strategies. Close-range action is also planned to ensure access to essential services such as education, health, nutrition, and housing.
The initiative will involve coordination between public, private, and social entities, the promotion of community awareness campaigns on child poverty and social exclusion, and the development of activities to enhance children's and youth's knowledge of their rights and civic participation. This joint commitment aims to build more integrated and effective local responses, focusing on the needs of children, youth, and their families.
