The works, taking place in Sobral da Adiça, focus on the Perna Seca stream and have the primary objective of flood prevention, especially with the onset of winter and the anticipated increase in rainfall. The intervention seeks to reduce the likelihood of the watercourse overflowing its banks, thereby protecting properties and residents in the vicinity.
Beyond water safety, the municipal action also contributes to the conservation and enhancement of the surrounding natural environment. The stream cleaning promotes safer conditions and increased environmental care in the area.
This initiative is part of the ongoing plan of prevention and maintenance actions developed by the Municipality of Moura. The investment exceeding 6,000 euros reflects the council's commitment to minimizing the negative impacts associated with periods of intense rain and ensuring public safety.
