The ceremony will take place at 6:00 PM in the Municipal Library auditorium and will consider achievements throughout the current calendar year. In the three previous editions, from 2023 to 2025, the Municipal Council awarded 278 merit diplomas for absolute national titles and significant international achievements.
The Municipality already has a list of athletes who meet the criteria for this distinction for 2026, approved bi-weekly in council meetings. However, to ensure maximum coverage, the Sports Division will contact all sports associations in the municipality to ensure that everyone meeting the defined criteria is included in the ceremony.
Additionally, an online form is available for athletes and clubs who meet the requirements, which must be submitted by November 30th. Sports merit diplomas and trophies will be awarded to athletes born in, residing in, or competing for associations in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, who hold absolute national champion titles in their respective disciplines or have significant international achievements in the current year, with the same criteria applying to teams and referees.
In the 2025 ceremony, 91 athletes were honored across 22 sports. The 2023 ceremony covered the calendar years 2020, 2021, and 2022, honoring 127 athletes.
