The band LES A LES, an electronic and experimental music project from Ílhavo, presents its self-titled album this Friday, October 30th, at the Festa da Milha, after receiving record label support from the 23 Milhas project.

LES A LES were the selected band to receive this year's record label support from 23 Milhas, a cultural project by the Municipality of Ílhavo, aimed at projects registered on PRAIA, a platform for registering artists from Ílhavo. The support included the recording of a 12’’ vinyl phonogram (300 copies) and a concert to present the EP/LP, integrated into the programming of this year's Milha - Festa da Música e dos Músicos de Ílhavo, taking place this Friday, October 30th, at 11:00 PM, in the foyer of the Casa da Cultura de Ílhavo.
LES A LES is an electronic and experimental music project that blends word, voice, and sonic matter, created by Charles Lazer, an artist residing in Ílhavo and registered on PRAIA, and by Vítor Hugo, united by music for about two decades. The band emerged from a desire to explore sound beyond conventional song boundaries. Vítor Hugo is a singer, guitarist, and composer, while Charles Lazer is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, beatmaker, and DJ. It is from this intersection that LES A LES was born, where machines and words become central elements, with synthesizers, beats, textures, percussion, guitars, and voices coexisting with a narrative in Portuguese.
The competition jury included the councilor for culture of the Municipality of Ílhavo, Maria Eugénia Pinheiro, artist Margarida Campelo, conductor Henrique Portovedo, Pedro Teixeira, programmer for Cinetreatro Alba - Albergaria-a-Velha, and Pedro Junqueiro from Audiowax. LES A LES and members of the 23 Milhas team visited the vinyl production factory in Maia last Friday to oversee the first pressings.
The 23 Milhas Record Label Support is annual and aims to stimulate artistic and musical creation, support the valorization and professionalization of local cultural agents, and promote the dissemination of projects integrated into PRAIA. Artists and groups with a connection to Ílhavo can register through the 23 Milhas website.
The concert by LES A LES is free. The vinyl will be available at the ticket offices of the Casa da Cultura de Ílhavo and the Fábrica das Ideias da Gafanha da Nazaré for €10.00, starting October 30th. The Milha - Festa da Música e dos Músicos de Ílhavo runs until November 1st, in Ílhavo and Gafanha da Nazaré.
