The event will begin at 4:00 PM at the Largo Conselheiro Hintze Ribeiro and the Paços do Concelho, aiming to celebrate half a century of Autonomy and highlight its contribution to the economic, social, cultural, and institutional development of the Region and, particularly, the municipality of Ribeira Grande.
The initiative proposes a journey through the path taken over the last 50 years, showcasing the profound transformations experienced by the municipality, recognizing the achievements, and valuing the contribution of the institutions and people involved in building today's Ribeira Grande.
Beyond the historical and commemorative dimension, the exhibition and lecture aim to provide a space for knowledge, sharing experiences, and reflection on the importance of Autonomy as an instrument for regional affirmation and local development, also promoting debate on the challenges and opportunities for the future.
The initiative also takes on a civic and intergenerational dimension, seeking to bring the community closer to the history of Autonomy and to raise awareness, especially among new generations, about the significance of this achievement and the importance of participation in building the collective future.
By marking the 50 years of Autonomy, the Ribeira Grande Municipal Council intends to value the municipality's memory and identity, recognize the path taken, and reaffirm the importance of Autonomy as a fundamental instrument for continuing to build a more developed, cohesive Region and municipality prepared for future challenges.
