Writer Carlos Nuno Granja presented his children's work “A biblioteca itinerante é bastante extravagante” at Largo das Freiras, in Ribeira Grande, in an initiative attended by the Vice-President of the Municipal Council, Délia Melo.

The work, aimed at a younger audience and illustrated by Yana Marques, invites readers on a journey marked by imagination, humor, and a love for books. The story's protagonist is Mr. Loisas, who transforms a van into a mobile library to bring stories to various communities, experiencing adventures with characters like climbing bears and coyotes.
The book is also a tribute to the iconic itinerant libraries of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, which for decades helped bring books and culture closer to populations with limited access to reading. The presence of Vice-President Délia Melo highlighted the importance the Ribeira Grande Municipal Council places on promoting reading and revitalizing the Daniel de Sá Municipal Library.
The event provided an opportunity for an encounter around children's and youth literature, celebrating books' ability to stimulate imagination and encourage early reading habits.
