The event, themed “Mental Health is Built in the Community,” included various awareness initiatives for the public, aiming to reinforce the importance of mental health, social inclusion, and the link between the institution and society.
Throughout the five days, moments of reflection and sharing were promoted on different dimensions of mental health, contributing to greater awareness of the topic and valuing prevention and specialized support.
Among the initiatives, a conference dedicated to prevention, part of the World Mental Health Day commemorations, stood out, providing a space to discuss current challenges and the importance of promoting lifelong psychological well-being.
The Open Week also served as an opportunity to showcase the work of the Sisters Hospitallers in mental health, highlighting the importance of social inclusion, reducing the stigma associated with mental illness, and promoting responses that respect human dignity.
“"Mental health is fundamental to people's quality of life and well-being. Initiatives like this contribute to greater awareness, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, and reinforce the importance of prevention and access to adequate support, fostering a more informed, inclusive, and supportive society."
