Nine years after the tragic fires of October 15, 2017, the Municipality of Vouzela is holding a tribute program for the victims today.

The Vouzela Municipal Council is once again paying tribute to the victims of the October 15 fires, nine years after the tragedy. Throughout the afternoon, floral tributes will be laid at the Evocative Monument in Vouzela, and in the cemeteries of Ventosa and Queirã.
The tribute program concludes with a Eucharistic celebration at 7:00 PM in the Parish Church of Queirã, presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese of Viseu, D. António Luciano.
The Municipality of Vouzela keeps alive the memory of those who departed and all who closely experienced the consequences of the fires. Remembering is also a way to honor, not to forget, and to continue valuing the unity and solidarity that marked the community's response during that difficult time.
The tribute program includes the laying of floral wreaths at 5:15 PM at the Evocative Monument in Vouzela (next to the Marist Missionary Institute), at 6:00 PM in the Ventosa Cemetery, and at 6:45 PM in the Queirã Cemetery.
