The Municipal Services for Water and Sanitation (SMAS) of Viseu are preparing an investment of €1.2 million for the renewal and expansion of water, sanitation, and rainwater drainage networks in various areas of the municipality.

The most significant intervention, with a projected cost of €1,000,040, focuses on the renovation of the sanitation network on Avenida Manuel Loureiro and its transversal streets, in Pascoal. This project is part of a set of interventions approved by the Board of Directors of SMAS Viseu during their meeting on November 2nd.
In the city of Viseu, Rua Serpa Pinto, between Calçada de Viriato and Calçada de São Mateus, will undergo the remodeling of the water supply network, an investment of €73,726. In the southern area of the municipality, SMAS plans to execute new water and sanitation branches, valued at €76,500, to enable new connections to public networks.
In Póvoa de Sobrinhos, at Quinta do Prazo, a rainwater collector will be constructed with an investment of €44,705 to improve rainwater drainage. Additionally, approximately €10,000 will be allocated to the replacement of pavements in Quintãs de Côta.
The official note emphasizes that the maintenance and renewal of these infrastructures are crucial for water quality and proper sanitation functioning, reducing losses and ensuring the high quality standards that distinguish SMAS Viseu, recognized by ERSAR with the Seal of Exemplary Quality of Water for Human Consumption.
